Sawtelle is a vibrant neighborhood on the Westside of Los Angeles, known for its cultural heritage, diverse architecture, and thriving local scene. Situated south of Brentwood, east of Santa Monica, and north of Mar Vista, Sawtelle is strategically located near some of the most desirable areas in the city. It is roughly bounded by Interstate 405 to the east, National Boulevard to the south, Centinela Avenue to the west, and Bringham Avenue, San Vicente Boulevard, and the Veterans Affairs (V.A.) grounds to the north.

Originally developed in the early 20th century, Sawtelle has a rich cultural history, particularly with its Japanese-American heritage. The area was once home to a thriving community of Japanese immigrants who established nurseries, markets, and small businesses that still influence the neighborhood today. Over the years, Sawtelle has transformed into a trendy and desirable Westside destination, known for its eclectic mix of restaurants, independent shops, and modern developments, while still maintaining traces of its historic charm.

Sawtelle features a wide variety of home styles, reflecting the neighborhood's evolution over the decades. The area offers a mix of historic bungalows, Mid-Century homes, contemporary townhomes, and newly built modern residences, catering to a diverse group of residents, from young professionals to families and long-time locals.

One of Sawtelle’s biggest draws is its walkability and convenience. The neighborhood is centered around Sawtelle Boulevard, known as "Sawtelle Japantown", a vibrant district filled with acclaimed restaurants, artisanal coffee shops, specialty markets, and unique boutiques. With its proximity to Silicon Beach, Santa Monica, UCLA, and major freeways (405 and 10), Sawtelle attracts tech professionals, students, and creatives who appreciate the blend of urban energy and residential charm.
